Lifetime Upgrades
Clare Bowen replied to ViralAdStore.com's topic in Safelists, Mailers, Autoresponders
About lifetime upgrades. Although I sold lifetime upgrades at the launch of Harmony Mails, we haven't since, and we don't in our other mailers. We are constantly deactivating inactive members, and so, even though we have many more members, member mails are only going out to around 1500-2000. There's a vast difference between an upgrade where members can practically reach the entire active membership daily in a mailer without any effort, and an upgrade where the member emails 5000 daily, but gets enough monthly credits/sends to only mail 5 or 6 times. Our upgrades are just worth a lot more than to sell them at a price that people would pay for a lifetime. Also, just my personal opinion when looking where to upgrade. I'll buy lifetime upgrades, but except in rare circumstances where the owner really makes a real effort to continue growing their sites, I pretty much accept that the sign ups from them will be few and far between the longer they're online and selling lifetime upgrades. In most cases, in my eyes, every lifetime sold in a mailer weakens the long-term effectiveness of it. -
Thanks Maryanne, yes, as you found, read and replied while still hot off the press 3200+ in less than a month is exceptional growth, but understandable. People love your sites

I think it depends on the settings that the blog owner has chosen for comments. They have the option to either let anyone comment (and whether they should add name and email address with that or not) or they can allow comments only from people who have a wordpress account and are logged into it.

Gordon McQue - Trainee Internet Affiliate

Hi Gordon It's nice to see you here. I've learned so much from this awesome community, and I'm sure that you'll find the same. -
A new set of relaunches is about to begin

My banner rotator at Hits Connect is working, but then I haven't added a new one in a very long time. I don't use their tracking, so I'm not upgraded there, I just use the one banner rotator that's allowed there. You can try Traffic Zipper, but I haven't used it for years and can't say if its reliable. Free accounts can have several I think. I would keep an eye on them at first to make sure they're connecting the right image and page link combination (somewhere in my memory there was some problem with that way back then).

There's truth and wisdom in Zanezim's comment too. When something like this happens, you learn to identify the signs, and while I'm all for spreading the news of a con artist, I'm also keen to move on, wiser for my experience. To my mind, there's no grey area. If someone doesn't pay commissions, and/or doesn't respond to support requests within a reasonable time frame. Avoid like the plague, cancel payments to them, stop promoting them etc. It's not worth waiting around and wondering if its going to happen, or if the owner is going to reform. Unfortunately, there's very little hope that they will.

Well, Phil's reply from Matthew, might have put this into better perspective, at least for me. Because I've listened to one of his coaching videos, where he goes into depth about how he treats his five star prospects for long-term benefits, focusing all his attention on them etc. I guess, if you're not in this category for some or other reason, you're no longer important to him. I think it has to be pointed out, that the man considers himself to be a legendary list builder. In my opinion, he launches and relaunches so many sites because they're a trawling net for prospects. One of the best "lead magnets" known in marketing is "free traffic". And sure he sells upgrades, of course, but the long-term benefits he's looking for are more related to his own personal list. I think it's more a case of come up with a new innovative idea around a mailer, enough to generate excitement and pull in subscribers (same script, just a clone and a new idea). I don't think he was always like this, I think he's been "sharpening" his skills and tweaking his business in a way that he's managed to justify to himself and is trying justify to those who will listen to him.

What Would You Do If You Lost Your PayPal Account?
Clare Bowen replied to captkirk's topic in Commons
To stick my neck out a bit here, but I'm just being honest, my intention is not to offend or anything. When I see owners promoting and pushing ORU, which some are quite heavily, sending out member mails, writing it on their blog etc, it looks more like they're rubbing their hands together at the prospect of earning money from their members via the processor they're using, than by the service they're supposed to be providing. I doubt that I'm alone in that feeling and I'd hate for our members to think that of us. For that reason, we'll hold back from using it at all, unless of course, there are enough requests coming to us directly from our members. -
Not sure there's any way other than that it might help to reduce your transactions to only those absolutely necessary, and try to use your alternatives where ever possible. And, you may already know this, but bear in mind that if they freeze your account, they'll most likely hold your balance for 180 days.

Jim Harmon’s My Lead Gen Secret

LFMVM doesn't have a mod for accepting bitcoin payments, and that might be holding most new owners back from adding it. It requires purchase and install from a different programmer. Also, we may well see less new LFMVM sites since the PayPal chaos, because they (LFM) also lost their use of PayPal and far as I can see, have no replacement for it as yet. -
I joined your new TE that you opened some time since your post here. And I must say this, though you're clearly putting on your site, the things that many surfers are seeking, what's going to keep your members most loyal to you is your admin mails that you're sending daily. I don't really have a chance to surf in Traffic Exchanges lately, so forgive me if I haven't gotten into yours much. But I belong to many many TEs, and I have a file in my gmail inbox where I filter TE admin mails to. 90% of these go straight to there, and I only look at them if I'm searching something specific. Your admin mails have me opening each one, each day. You have a lovely way of communicating with your members and that will surely count for a lot. Best of luck :-)

Hi Tommie, thank you, yes permanent, both business and personal accounts. It's hard to explain my feelings around this. It's almost a relief. I know it's a preferred processor for many, and so it's a loss to some member's who are used to paying and getting paid with it, but I feel somewhat liberated, and we're really positive going into the future without Paypal. -
