Do you surf with your sound on or off?

I surf with the sound off too ... if something catches my attention then I turn it back on.

Yes, I either turn it off or mute that tab. You can mute individual tabs in Chrome by right clicking on the tab. Like others said, if I see something interesting and want to listen then I can turn the sound on and start the video over. It is very important to have compelling text or images on your site instead of just a video.

Usually when I surf I'm surfing several TEs simultaneously... Having the sound on just ends up with several sites playing over each other and creating a cacophany of noise

I usually leave the sound on to listen to music and turn the sound off to tabs that have annoying sounds.

Surfing with the sound off allows me to focus and glide through the websites. Audio messages, of course, tend to grab my attention, but it also slows me down. I have a blog that targets the music-loving audience, but it ‘invites’ the visitor to listen, instead of intruding on the visitor’s ‘quiet space,’...http://www.cgmarket.site.

Sound off for me. I do not want to be distracted. If the words and the graphics don't get to me, the sound won't either.

i surf with sound off i also have installed on firefox an extension that auto mutes all sounds and disable auto play of youtube. i work at night so preferably i don't want to be surprised with uncalled for noises.

I surf with the sound off. I surf very rapidly and if I left the sound on I would be listening to 5 voices overlapping each other.

yeah when surfing, all sounds are muted and no videos, i have multiple extensions in firefox to accomplish this. i just use my mobile phone to listen to music while surfing.
