This is one of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with. In May of this year I opened an account with them and purchased $100 worth of Bitcoin. At first I was able to send, receive and withdraw my cryptocurrency with relative ease. Then in July my account was suddenly restricted and I was told that I needed to verify my identity via webcam. I couldn't even withdraw my funds back to my linked bank account. (This was after I had already deposited funds and bought and sold cryptocurrency through them! You would think that a complete verification process would take place when the account is being opened.) I don't have access to a computer with a webcam but eventually I was able to find one and I attempted to take photos of my ID along with a picture of myself holding a paper showing the date but for some reason my pictures were not accepted. Since I no longer had access to that computer I wasn't able to try again. I contacted Coinbase support for assistance and they responded with generic emails then another email stating they had to escalate my issue to a "specialist". After a few weeks of unsuccessfully trying to find an alternative method to verify my identiification I finally got access to another computer with a webcam and this time my pictures were accepted and my account was verified. I thought that I would finally be able to buy and sell crytpo again but I was wrong. When I attempted to deposit funds into my account I received a message stating that I was unable to do so and that I needed to contact support. Once again I emailed them and received the following response: "Coinbase reviewed your account and has determined that you are not eligible to use the Coinbase platform to purchase cryptocurrency or use our deposit services. As such, you are no longer eligible to link any payment methods. We are not able to provide you with any additional information." So I decided to simply withdraw my funds but since I hadn't done so in a while (it's not clear on the website) I asked for instructions on how to send the bitcoin to my cash wallet. It took a few more generic emails over a course of a couple of days just to get an answer. They had even sent me a link with instructions that pertained to to a different question. Fortunately I was finally able to withdraw my remaining funds and I no longer have to deal with them. For several weeks my funds were in limbo with no end in sight. It was incredibly frustrating dealing with this company. Their customer support is basically useless.

I just ran into the same exact problem a couple of days ago trying to send a payment.  I have a webcam but I also already have documents ready for such a occasion.  I tried and tried to upload them and they kept being rejected with out reason.  I received a text from coinbase saying that the identity issue was resolved no reason why there was a issue.  Have not tried to log in since I received the text message.

I have heard so many horrible stories and facts regarding the use of alternate coin based payments and investments.  I was advised long ago by very smart business associates to not EVER get involved with anything other than cold hard cash in USD funds.  I am so glad that I refuse to even acknowledge this unsafe and questionable way of paying for something and receiving payments using that junk.  I do investigations of any new program that deals with internet marketing and selling goods.  If that is the only form of payments and commissions, then it fails at that point and is put in the junk file and deleted.  If a program offers other payment methods then I will always use that first.  I do not ever pay attention to anything to do with alternate cryptocoins of any kind, especially bitcoins.

I tried one time before I got smart about the whole thing to open an account with coinbase.com and got treated like a kid.  I have deleted and reported many of these bogus companies, Coinbase included to the authorities and that is one stipulation I will always follow with any new program I investigate.  I am sorry you had to experience that issue with trying to pacify those crooks.  I have many friends that have lost everything they put into these idiotic companies, and now have the same guidelines that I follow.  Everyone says it is just a fad, and I can't agree any more about that statement.  I hope that anyone who has dealings still going on with these jerks, that they get out before they lose their shirts, because it is coming soon.

Good luck to all, there are always better ways to keep it secure, just be on the lookout for these scams, they will always be a headache to any business person that is only trying to make a living and secure their future.

According to you words look like coinbase nothing done wrong

but i agree with one thing generally crypto based companies support sucks but they not out typicale software comoany right..they got better things to deal with

in your words

1. eventually you was able to verify

2. you were able to withdraw your money

3. for their reason you not eligible for deposit money ( if they are scam they can take your money and run,,but they not they did not take your money  so all your side faults and

coinbase a good old crypto based company so there is little chance they do something wrong... its way they treat as they are crypto currency companies not genral sites we pay for get great support so far i think they are great company...

be aware with companies that start like mushrooms and go ico every week like bitconnect type scams so

like i know coinbase, coinpayment, blockchain are great companies..

I never doubt the integrity of Coinbase. I think your activities and your country maybe the reason they did that to you. There are a whole lot of options, you should use them.

I had the same thing happen to me.  I do have a computer with a webcam but it was incredibly difficult to complete the pictures, etc to their specificiation.

I finally just gave up.  I only joined coinbase to purchase a membership.in leased ad space  So I did not have a lot to lose.  But I was warned not to depend on online

coinbase type program to trade or buy bitcoin.  This problem just showed up out of the blue.

It is strange how there are so many people who like coinbase and then there incidents which really deter people from using them.  To be honest I did have a problem with them when authenticating on my phone and it was a little tricky to sort out at the time so I left it and went into binance who I am happy with.  But hey...!

i think that the problem is in your country i mean your ip is on tier3 or so.

or you use vpn or bad repuation browser that lead to these problems you have to mention lot of things like your country screens attachement's etc...

most of coinbase users have no problem with them and they live in T1 countries
