Unless I am a movie maker or own a streaming platform of significant quality (i.e: can compete with netflix) I don't think these stats are all that useful. They inform me that people want to watch movies and/ or TV shows. Almost zero of the people conducting these searches would be looking for a marketing video aimed at selling them something, in my opinion. geomc57 Posted April 19, 2020 Author Report Posted April 19, 2020 firebyfifty, Appreciate your opinion. I understand that the specific data my not be helpful. But... The data is meant to show a trend not a call to compete with Netflix. It is not a new trend. It is a trend we have all known for some time now. But it is seriously accelerated. Most ads come and go in a moment, especially banner ads. What I have had some real traction with are short educational video that have my banner ads piggybacking the video display. I do make videos and for the first time I am seeing more and more "complete views" of the video. People have the time to pay attention, and they are. I would suggest getting video into your promotional plans in some fashion to some degree. Are you using Facebook Live for instance? Here is a self made video, my resume essentially http://tinyurl.com/y69n36jv When I recruit a new prospect I send this out. In the past people would watch 50% or more on average, now most people are watching to completion. And offering feedback. And here is a educational video, with my banner ads attached. http://www.syrwebdesign.com/r/geo/JimR My tracking tells me the banners are getting clicked and I have 2 new affiliates in April that track to this video. Very fair response and assessment. And I especially take note of this line: "I do make videos and for the first time I am seeing more and more "complete views" of the video. People have the time to pay attention, and they are." which I find very interesting that the time people now may have on their hands is leading to a more complete view. I do use video quite a bit in my marketing so will definitely have to look into any change in the "complete" or "partial" views of my videos to see if there has been an increase lately. bojanglez Posted June 8, 2020 Report Posted June 8, 2020 Thanks for this information. Very interesting and I am not surprised at all. I, myself, have been binge watching a lot during COVID-19. Quote
