I followed your link and joined. What have your experiences been using this site. I hope it wont follow the service I was using. I use the short links a lot in my promos because in some SL and TE sites the character count is important and the length of the link can be important.

I would also like to address your concerns about  the longevity of our site.

I opened this site over 6 years ago and would be lost without it as I use it myself for all my promotions.

Besides, on a good month I actually make a few bucks running it, lol.

 

 DirectTrak Pro will be around for as long as I can see a monitor screen and a keyboard.

Thanks for your reply to my messages. I hope that when you get close to having to shut down you will not just shut down but will allow someone to buy you out. I was in the mini url for a long time and relied on my links heavily to a level such that it will take a lonag time to fix my links to the new on at: http://dtkpro.com/?glhutsko.

Over the years I have found many places where a short/shrunken url works best due to space and or character controls. I think this kind of service is worth while and is needed.

There were times when I used third party cloaking and redirects only to find out that something was clogged somewhere, and that is how it goes sometimes, when something gets broken. And so goes the campaign, money for nothing, clicks for free!

 

Then I decided to write my own html redirects by placing the redirected html (index.????) in a specific folder for a specific campaign.

Of  course it takes some work with text files but once you do it a few times, it is not that hard and it is usually always there as long as nothing is wrong with your own hosting account.

 

For multiple campaigns on the same url, use different folders. If you want to change any campaign tracking, just copy to another folder and delete the old one and done.

 

Do I still use third party cloaks and redirects? Yeah why not but when I have problems I just revert to using what I already know how to do without any interference from 3rd parties.

I have been working on line for many years now. I have tried sales websites. Ebay, and even notes processing. Almost 6 years ago I joined Worldprofit and found for me the answer to my online Presence. During that time I found a need to both cloak and/or shrink the landing pages I use. I would recommend shrinking your links for many reasons:

not a long URL

not an ugly URL

track stats

I highly recommend using a link shrinking site, I use Direct Tracker Pro.   Cloaking is important and I think a site like this helps in the tracking process.

Some are reliable and some of them are there to stay. Bit.ly and goo.gl for example.
