so which of these methods are the best to generate traffic and also earn sales for the affiliate product you are promoting.

I would prefer solo ads, might cost a bit of money, but think of it as investing in your business

If we are limited to list provided I would have to

say Facebook groups.  Social media is the

strongest (longer termed) strategy from this

list as you are building relationships as well.

 

Solo ads would be second.

 

But you did not included blogging about your

affiliate product.  We would assume that you are

knowledgable about the product you are affiliated

with - so educate others on it (not sell).

 

Also, most likely there will be others looking

and researching your affiliate product.  Blog

about it and place content in the proper position

to have their questions and concerns addressed.

I have just gotten involved with mailers as in mailing to other people's lists such as this site right here. I tried posting in Facebook groups, but as most are aware, Facebook groups are usually just a spam fest with little to no results.

I agree with Kevin, but I think you need to add one more component. To get people to keep reading what you blog about, you should have an optin list of your own. If your blog contains true value they are going to want to read it, so let them request to get updates so they don't miss anything. After all, being on Marketing Checkpoints list is what got me to read this post, or I surely would have missed out on yet another valuable and interesting tip to help my business.

Currently, I use Viral Mailers and Adboards to generate traffic to my site.

 

But, I could be just as successful with Traffic Exchanges. I use to make direct

from Traffic Exchanges when people said that they were a waste of time of time and effort .

I like a mixture of all of the above.  Viral mailers seem to work quite well.  Recently I have done very well with Maryanne Myers Profit Ring.

I've received good results from mailers and TE's.  The outcomes being experienced depend on being consistent and persistent. Different sites come and go...so don't be too shaken up when particular sites go down or stop operating.  Just keep your eyes on the prize.

I like TEs and banner ads... but I don't usually promote my main affiliate links there. I prefer to think long term and to promote VIRAL programs which will gradually build more traffic to my main squeeze pages or affiliate links.

Advertising has to encompass as many methods as you can manage...

 

Lets face it the broader your range of promotions the more people you place your ad in front of...

 

However sales do not count on the areas you promote your advertising....

 

That depends on how good and enticing your ad is....

 

How many times have you looked at an ad online and decided no not interested because the ad did not grab you!

 

So advertising comes down to two factors...

 

Does your ad grab peoples attention?

 

Is your ad in the right place?

 

The only way to find this out is REPEAT..REPEAT...REPEAT

Honestly paid traffic is always going to be better than the free methods, but that being said im getting referrals frequently from free sources like, traffic exchanges, mailer, safelists and list builders. But im signed up to like total 200+ and have it auto assigned to my websites when i surf using Traffic Browser...I also everyday check my mailers to see if i have enough to mail...having a schedule really helps.

 

When i've made enough money from free sources to pay for a solo ad will do this for sure, Solo ads if done right work wonders. My suggestion is use a capture page when sending solo ads, because you want to capture thier email addresses even if said person doesn't buy what your selling...Its a Win Win. - Here are some solo ad sources im currently using ---- Udimi - Safe Swap
